Updates regarding the spring term for students at Kågeskolan
Due to the fire at Kågeskolan, these are the temporary solutions that apply from the start of the semester on January 8.
Bus transport for students to Sjungande dalens skola
From the start of the term on Wednesday 8 January, year 4 and 5 will be taught at Sjungande dalens skola in Skellefteå. We hope to return to Kågeskolan as soon as possible but are planning the tuition at Sjungande dalen for the rest of the spring term.
Bus transport will be organised, and staff will accompany the students from Kågeskolan. The students will be travelling by chartered buses to and from Sjungande dalens skola. The buses will run according to a timetable (see further down below).
The buses go back home at 3:10 pm on Mondays to Thursdays, and 1:10 pm on Fridays. In the first week, all buses go from Sjungande dalens skola. When crafts and sports start, some journeys may go via Internationella Engelska Skolan (IES) in Skellefteå, in the morning and afternoon.
School age educare continues at Kågeskolan
School-age educare will be organised at Kågeskolan, so all pick-ups and drop-offs can take place there as usual. For those who have school-age educare in the morning, breakfast is served at 7:10 am.
Crafts and sports for students in Kåge, Ersmark and Kusmark
- Students in years 4 and 5 at Sjungande dalens skola will have crafts and sports at Internationella Engelska Skolan (IES). No crafts, sports and music in the first week (8th to 10th January).
- Students in Ersmark and Kusmark will have no woodwork and metalwork during the first week.
- Year 6 have crafts in Kåge. The pupils are divided into two groups, and both groups have textile crafts in the spring term.
- Year 9 has wood- and metalwork at Drängsmarksskolan. The woodwork lesson takes place on Fridays, starting on January 17.
We expect that woodwork at Kågeskolan to be up and running for the other classes from 13 January, but in other premises at the school. Textile crafts will continue according to schedule.

Safe and secure school travels
We would like to remind all students travelling to and from school by bus of the importance of safe and responsible bus riding. Our common goal is that all students travel safely and securely, so it is important that we work together to ensure this. Here are some important things to keep in mind when travelling by bus:
- Use seat belts. It is compulsory for all students to wear a seatbelt throughout the journey. This is an important safety measure to minimise the risk of injury in the event of an incident. If a student does not comply with this rule, the bus driver will stop the bus and ask the student to buckle up before continuing the journey. This is done to ensure the safety of everyone on board. On some buses, there are adults on board who can help ensure that students follow the safety rules. However, it is important to note that even these adults are only allowed to move freely in the bus when it is stationary, to avoid accidents.
- Behaviour on board and at the bus stop. We expect all students to behave in a responsible and respectful manner while waiting for the bus and during the bus journey.
- Respect for bus drivers and fellow passengers. The bus driver has a great responsibility for safety on board, and it is important that all students listen to the driver's instructions and show respect to both the driver and other passengers.
We encourage you to discuss these rules with your children and remind them of the importance of following them. Thank you for your understanding for the need of special solutions during this time!
