We are a digital and physical meeting place that helps you find your way and discover all the opportunities in Skellefteå. We guide newcomers as well as potential residents and serve as a natural link to businesses and other actors. Please contact us with your questions about life in Skellefteå!
Opening hours
We are structuring our drop-in visits with information meetings every half hour.
Morning 08.30-11.30
Closed for lunch 12.00-13.00
Afternoon 13.00 – 16.30
Opening hours Monday - Friday 08:00-17:00 (closed for lunch 12:00-13:00.) If no one is on site in Welcome House, you can go to customer service with your questions.
The Center for guidance is on site Tuesdays 13.00-15.00 and Fridays 08.00-12.00

What does Welcome House Skellefteå do for you?
The hub between Skellefteå and newcomers
Welcome House Skellefteå is a function that can open up new contact routes to a life in Skellefteå. It is also a meeting and information place for new and old residents of Skellefteå, but also a function where potential immigrants can turn with their questions.
Welcome House is the hub between Skellefteå and newcomers. We offer an arena for those who want to showcase their activities, such as companies, associations and municipal activities.
In collaboration with other actors, Welcome House creates various meetings, including spouse programs for companions, housing events to rent or buy housing and healthcare events to learn about the healthcare system.
Social sustainability
But Welcome House also organizes events for social sustainability, such as an After Work where the entire local population was invited under the motto "Come as a guest - leave as a friend". Together with Medborgarskolan, the concept "One country - one evening" has been developed where newcomers from a specific country present their home country to other Skellefteå residents.

Associations and organizations
Are you also passionate about giving newcomers the best possible welcome? We offer space in the box so you can tell us about your activities. Read more below about how to send materials to our welcome box.
If you as an association/organization want to use the offer
We invite new citizens continuously through the welcome box, mailings, networks and our digital channels. In this way, you as a company can get the chance to meet new Skellefteå residents who are curious about their new home town.
During the year, we will organize activities together with other partners. For example, work shop, spouse program, matching mingle and theme meetings. Feel free to come up with suggestions and ideas for activities that are suitable for newcomers, we are happy to try them out.
