Author Åke Lundgren shares the story and images from his new documentary book, which took 48 years to complete. It tells the tale of Christina Chatarina Larsdotter (1819-1854), known as the Tall Lapland Girl, Stor-Stina, and The Lapland Giantess.
This unique woman's fate was the subject of Åke's first novel "Den långa Lappflickan, sägnen om Stor-Stina" (The Tall Lapland Girl – The Legend of Stor-Stina) (1981). It was later revised and released as a special anniversary edition in 2011.
Now, her remains have been found, and Åke has written an extensive documentary about her fate: " Sapmis Jättinna - Sanningen om den långa Lappflickan" (The Giantess of Sápmi – The Truth About the Tall Lapland Girl.)
The book is richly illustrated and contains a wealth of factual material collected over 48 years.
