Visioner i norr steg 2
Arctic Design Center has invited ArkDes and Skellefteå municipality to tell us more about the project "Visioner i norr steg 2" which has started in Umeå, Skellefteå, Luleå, Boden, Gällivare and Kiruna.
In Norrbotten and Västerbotten, some of the largest investments ever in green conversion, technology, and infrastructure are currently taking place. The investment places great demands on more housing, attractive living environments, and long-term sustainability. How can we create sustainable housing in a short time while at the same time making use of existing resources and creating long-term good living environments with good quality?
To create and manage habitats that are sustainable, inclusive, aesthetically pleasing, and functional, multiple perspectives and skills are needed. In collaboration with other actors, ArkDes conducts practical research in architecture and design. We do this to test new ways of working and fulfill the goals in the Policy for a Shaped Living Environment.
