SkeLitt: Mödramärg – new book by Tina Harnesk
Tina Harnesk won the Book of the Year 2023 award for her debut Folk som sår i snö (People Who Sow in Snow). Now, the long-awaited sequel, Mödramärg (Mother's Marrow), is finally here – a book about motherhood and the exploitation of Sápmi.
Tina Harnesk grew up in Jokkmokk but currently lives in Arvidsjaur. Her debut novel Folk som sår i snö (People Who Sow in Snow) amazed both readers and critics, and her publisher calls her "a literary star whose brilliance will never fade."
Now, Tina is back with a new novel, Mödramärg (Mother's Marrow). In it, we follow the fates of three women across three different time periods, while also addressing the exploitation of Sápmi. It is a fictional story, but the external threat is recognizable from current events, where the Sámi and environmental protection organizations are doing what they can to protect the land. The tone is the same as in her debut.
