Skellefteå Big Band, Back to Basie

The legendary Skellefteå Big Band (which has been around for all time) returns to a jazz cafe, with a tribute to the style-forming big band giant Count Basie. Virtually every big band musician in this country has been schooled in Basie's swing, with arrangements by Neal Hefti, Frank Foster and Sammy Nestico. Vocal soloist will be the band's own Ulrica Lundmark, and Anton Thylin makes a "Sinatric" guest appearance. Hold on to the coffee cup, because a total of 13 wind players + accompaniment can be very good moves! Åsa Granlund Jonsson holds the baton in front of the band.
This year is also exactly 61 years since Basie's band visited Skellefteå! Some of may remember it.

As usual, the restaurant serves fine coffee, hearty sandwiches, sometimes a soup, coffee or tea, beer and wine for those who want it.
