Kärleken är evig, Främling, Bra vibrationer, Eloise, and Diggiloo Diggiley are just a few of the 26 hit songs that form the foundation of this feel-good musical. After a critically acclaimed world premiere in Malmö and a celebrated run in Stockholm, the hit musical is finally coming to Sara Kulturhus!
Lasse Holm, Ingela "Pling" Forsman, Monica Forsberg, and Torgny Söderberg are the creative geniuses behind countless immortal schlager hits. Their treasure trove of songs emerged during the 80s and left an everlasting mark on Sweden’s musical soul. This musical legacy is the core of the new musical This is What We Call Love!
In This is What We Call Love, the songs are lovingly crafted by director Hans Marklund. Along with a creative team and an unbeatable ensemble, they are writing new musical history—40 years after Carola’s victory at Melodifestivalen and the songs’ triumph in Swedish TV, radio, and your trusty Walkman.
Plot:
The year is 1985. Melodifestivalen is losing viewers. In a bold move, Swedish Television launches the largest talent competition ever. It’s coming to the small town of Målinge. On the streets, in homes, and in shops, preparations are underway for the big show that will put Målinge on the map. As the town readies for the event, a group of unfamiliar faces arrives, turning the town’s usual rhythm upside down...
Find your feather boas, glitter dresses, and schlager ties and get ready for the schlager musical that will leave new imprints on our hearts!
