Finland's Independence Day
Come to the City library and celebrate Finland's Independence Day.
Finland's declaration of independence was adopted by the Finnish Parliament on December 6, 1917.
In connection with Finland's Independence Day, the exhibition "Heritage" is shown. The main theme is the opportunity for Swedish Finns to pass on their language and culture to the next generation. The exhibition tells about the language, identity and the new Swedish-Finnish culture. The exhibition helps to change the traditional view of Swedish Finns as working class and show that Swedish Finns are in reality found everywhere in society, in all roles and positions. In a number of different areas, Swedish Finns have achieved great success.
Coffee and cake are offered. Warm welcome.
