The Magical Power of Choir Singing Celebrated – Led by Ale Möller
Experience the magical power of choir singing in a vibrant and powerful summer concert full of emotion. On stage, the Music Teachers Choir will perform alongside multi-instrumentalist Ale Möller and his quartet.
Ale Möller has composed and arranged a festive program specifically for this concert. The conductor is Susanna Lindmark, project manager for Körcentrum Nord. At the heart of the performance is the choir, with the Music Teachers Choir playing a key role – a group tailored to music teachers, church musicians, choir leaders, and vocal coaches. Expect plenty of passion, rhythm, and joy.
“I love working with choirs; there’s such fantastic energy and joy in singing! That energy will undoubtedly reach the audience as well – it’s going to be full of feeling and groove,” says Ale Möller.
In addition to the Music Teachers Choir, Ale Möller will be joined on stage by a quartet featuring percussionists Olle Linder and Liliana Zavala, as well as pianist Johan Graden.
“We will present music I’ve gathered during my travels and encounters with people from various cultures. It will be folk music-based but from many countries and parts of the world. For me, it’s also essential that the music is filled with emotion and that it’s vibrant and powerful,” says Ale Möller.
Ale Möller has traveled extensively with his music, crossing genres and creating a distinctive style. His journey began with a trumpet and a youthful affair with jazz, blossomed into a deep connection with Greek music, and later matured into a profound relationship with Swedish folk music and the traditional tunes of Dalarna. Ale plays everything from the mandola, accordion, and flutes to the shawm and cowhorn. Above all, he’s a musician who delves into the very essence of traditional music, no matter its origin.
Over a career spanning more than fifty years, Ale Möller has continually sought new intersections between cultures and traditions. He has collaborated with countless musicians and developed a unique and unmistakable style filled with surprising elements. Today, Ale Möller is a musical icon, not only in Sweden but also internationally.
The Music Teachers Choir is a choir designed for music teachers, church musicians, choir leaders, and vocal coaches. It aims to be a forum where like-minded individuals can meet, network, recharge, and enjoy singing together. Here, teachers and educators can immerse themselves in the joy of music within a relaxed and welcoming environment.
The choir has already participated in several major events. Its first tour took them to Northern Norway in late summer 2022, and in spring 2023, they performed at the inaugural TILLSAMMANS choral festival in Piteå. Most recently, they participated in this year’s edition of the festival in Luleå.
Körcentrum Nord, part of Norrbottensmusiken, aims to support, strengthen, and develop choral life in Norrbotten by organizing events, offering professional development, disseminating methods and research, and providing consultations.
