50th Malmstråket
Malmstråket is a classic ski race starting at Sidtjärn in Boliden and finishing at Skellefteå Ski Stadium. It is one of the few long-distance races where you travel between two locations, offering a unique experience of the beautiful surroundings.

In 2025, the 50th edition of Malmstråket will take place.
The race was first held in 1971, and despite some cancellations due to lack of snow, it is now time for the 50th event.
Ranking Race for Vasaloppet and Tjejvasan
Malmstråket is an official ranking race for both Vasaloppet and Tjejvasan:
- 43 kilometers applies for Vasaloppet.
- 22 kilometers applies for Tjejvasan.
Distances and Start Locations
- Boliden to Skellefteå – 43 kilometers.
- Åliden to Skellefteå – 22 kilometers.
- Myckle to Skellefteå – 10 kilometers.
Would you prefer a shorter distance? You can choose to start in Åliden or Myckle instead.
Schedule
- The race starts at 10:00 AM.
- The first finishers are expected at Skellefteå Ski Stadium around 10:45 AM.
- Elite skiers starting in Boliden are expected to finish around 12:00 PM.
Along the course, there are four hydration stations before reaching the finish line at the iconic Skellefteå Ski Stadium. At the finish, all participants are served soup, and there are facilities available for showering and changing.

We offer classes for all skiers – whether you are competing or skiing for fun. You can choose to participate with or without timekeeping.
