The cheques have been initiated by Vinnova and pay for external expertise in the areas of intellectual property, business development and infrastructure up to SEK 100,000 with the aim of strengthening small and medium-sized enterprises.

Each year, Region Västerbotten receives a regional grant from the government to be used for business support to promote investments in companies, especially companies with fewer than 250 employees, such as.so-called micro, small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs). The aid is intended to promote initiatives that lead to, or create the conditions for, sustainable growth (ecological, economic, social). Growth that does not come at the expense of the resources necessary for future development and a sustainable future for the next generation of people. Applications for support for initiatives that clearly contribute to sustainable growth in the region will therefore be given special priority.
