Under the name Smartup Skellefteå, several business and innovation-promoting actors are working together to support those who want to explore new ideas, start or grow their business. You get inspiration and knowledge, coaching, tools and contacts to develop, verify, finance or scale business ideas and innovations in a smarter way.
Many of Smartup's activities take place in The Great Northern, Skellefteå's co-working house and innovation hub that brings together many startups, incubators and events for those who run their own business. There are also office spaces available for rent if you want to develop in a creative environment with other entrepreneurs.

The Adopticum Foundation is a business with expertise in optical measurement technology; both sensor technology and development of software for optical measurement systems. It helps companies to develop products and services based on optical measurement technology and can assist in seeking funding for development projects.
Almi Nord offers loans and business development to companies that want to develop and grow. They cater for new and innovative ideas as well as for established companies with growth ambitions.
Arctic Business offers business development, capital provision and networking to create fast-growing and profitable companies that can operate in an international market. Their accelerator programme helps you refine your business idea and start planning for growth, and their incubator programme helps you with funding, team building and getting to market.
Coompanion offers knowledge and free advice on financing and developing cooperative enterprises, social entrepreneurship and social innovations.
Go Business is an incubator for those who have started businesses in creative and cultural fields or other parts of the service sector. In the free programmes, you become part of a community and get inspiration and tools to develop your ideas, your brand and yourself as an entrepreneur.
IUC Norr helps small and medium-sized industrial and industry-related companies to develop and move to the desired location. Tools include growth analyses, skills development initiatives and cluster building.
LTU Business innovation advisors give you free coaching and help you test an idea at an early stage to explore the market potential.
The Business Start-up Centre provides free and confidential advice for those who want to start their own business. You can get help with your business plan and questions about budgeting, marketing and sales.

Innovation + supports companies and individuals with innovations for health and social care. They connect healthcare professionals, patients, businesses and researchers and create the conditions to develop, test and sell new products and services.
Skellefteå Science City runs projects that support innovation processes in various forms and enable collaboration between different industries. They develop clusters in cleantech, energy and the gaming industry and also run The Great Northern.
T2 College trains tomorrow's employees in the engineering, carpentry, sawmill and plastics industries, but also offers collaborations, workshops, courses and training that strengthen the skills and competitiveness of both new and established companies.
The Unboxx Business Lab is run by experienced entrepreneurs. Based on the specific needs of each company, programmes are tailored to create the conditions to best test innovations/business ideas in the market. They want the innovator to focus on what they do best and they will take care of the rest. Together with their network they inject 1.000.000-10.000.000 SEK into each incubator company.
UF helps young people in Skellefteå to develop a business idea and try out life as an entrepreneur. They also inspire through conferences, lectures and educational materials.
