Skellefteå has changed a lot in recent years - and we want to know what you think! New initiatives, people and a place that has developed at a rapid pace.

But how do you experience Skellefteå today? And how do you see the common future of the place? We are now conducting a new survey where we want to know what you think.

The measurement is being carried out at a very special time. 2025 has so far meant major changes, sudden changes, uncertainty but also determination. In a slightly longer perspective, we have chosen to carry out the measurement of the site for the first time since 2019 to:

Evaluate changes: A lot has happened in Skellefteå in the last five years. We want to understand how these events have affected residents' and the outside world's view of our place.

Follow up on the 2030 strategy: Skellefteå aims, among other things, to reach 90,000 inhabitants by 2030. To achieve this goal together, it is important to continuously measure and understand how our brand is perceived, so that we can adapt our strategies accordingly.

Promoting participation: By involving citizens in the measurement process, we ensure that multiple perspectives are included in our further development work.

So what has happened since 2019?

Lots, of course! When you start to think about it, we have some incredibly eventful years behind us, and I think we can all agree on that.

Here are some points from the last few years that Skellefteå has experienced:

Billion-dollar investments in the business sector: Large and small investments in green industry have put Skellefteå on the map as a progressive place for establishments, where fast-footed community actors and unique access to clean energy create good conditions for industrial establishments.

Population growth: Increased in-migration has contributed to a more dynamic and diverse population.

Infrastructure development: Investments in housing, transport and digitalization have improved the quality of life for many residents.

At the same time, we have faced challenges that affect our journey towards the 2030 goals. All these experiences have provided us with valuable lessons and insights that we will take with us in our future work.
