Access card for door entry
Anyone who is 18 years of age or older can obtain an access card, which allows them to use the Campus Library during extended hours every day from 6:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m.
Extended hours means that if you have an access card, you can use the library outside of regular opening hours – even when it’s closed. You can search for, borrow, and return books using our self-service kiosk. Study areas and group rooms are also available when no staff are on site.
The access card is free, but if you lose or damage it, you’ll need to pay 100 SEK via Swish for a new card. If you have questions about the access card, visit the Helpdesk in the E-building.
If you already have a student ID
Go to the Campus Helpdesk to sign the agreement and have your card activated. This applies to college and university students, vocational school students, the general public, and adult education and SFI students.
If you don't have an access card, apply here!
Your access card is a valuable item, and you are personally responsible for it. Your visits are recorded every time you use the card. At closing time, a security guard will come and ensure that everyone leaves the premises. If you have an access card, you must follow the rules below:
- Keep your access card and code in a safe place.
- You must be able to present identification and your access card during inspections.
- Never lend your access card to anyone else.
- Use only the areas and times included in Meröppet.
- When regular opening hours end, you must leave the library and log in again with your access card.
- Do not allow other people into the premises. This is important for security. Adults may bring children with them during visits.
- Register and check out any materials you take from the library.
- Do not disturb other visitors on the premises.
- No food is allowed on the premises.
- The premises are equipped with an alarm system, and you will be responsible for any emergency response costs.
- If you lose your access card, contact the Campus Helpdesk immediately.
- Return your access card to the Campus Helpdesk if you no longer wish to use Meröppet.
- Violations will be reported to the police.
Violation of the rules will result in suspension from Meröppet at all libraries in the municipality of Skellefteå as follows:
- First offense: 1 year
- Second offense: the card is revoked and you will not receive a new one.
During Meröppet hours, staff may be present in the library for purposes other than assisting visitors. Personal service is available during staffed opening hours.
Important Information
Remember to swipe your access card every time you enter the library. You must do this to ensure your safety and that of others, and so that we can obtain accurate statistics on how many people use the library when it is “closed.” This is important so that we can continue to offer Meröppet.
Do not let anyone else in, regardless of whether they have their own access card or not! All visits are logged.

For minor issues (such as running out of toilet paper or a missing book), please contact us by email at skelleftealibrary@ltu.se. We will resolve the issue as soon as library staff are on site.
Is the self-service machine out of order?
Loans: Please wait until another day to borrow the book.
Returns: Place the book on the return shelf as usual. We will check it out for you.
