August 30 - the big neighborhood party!

World record for neighborhood parties? With long tables, barbecues, deck chairs, and camping tables covering an area of over 10,000 square kilometers—from Byske to Lövånger, from Kalvträsk to Skelleftehamn—and everything in between, it will probably be the world's largest—or at least most expansive—neighborhood party. When is it?

Saturday, 30 August, 2025. Start in the afternoon, maybe around 16:00, and continue as long as you want.

How does it work?

Skellefteå municipality does not organize the party - the residents do that themselves. The municipality has set a date and an overall plan. Then we support with ideas, a small party kit* (decorative flags, soap bubbles and other summer give-aways) and tips for organizing the party right where you live. All you need to do is sign up, gather your neighbors and have fun!

We want to make the biggest neighborhood party ever possible.

We believe in the future of our community and understand the importance of socializing, getting to know our immediate neighbours, making contacts for future jobs, exploring each other's interests, or learning about other cultures and simply doing things together with good people. Isn't it time for something really fun?
