Faith in the future
Unstoppable. Together with good people
Ten years ago, Skellefteå saw how depopulation were making it harder to sustain our core services and welfare. That insight pushed us to set bold new goals for our future – focused on people, the community, and businesses. Today, we are facing tough challenges, but we still believe in our journey just as much as we did back then. Let us explain why.
After years of stagnation, Skellefteå has grown at record speed in recent years – at times, even the fastest in Sweden. This growth comes from both a rising population and a business sector that has expanded and thrived.
But most importantly, we have learned a lot along the way – about ourselves and the power of developing a place together. The determination and optimism in Skellefteå are something special – the kind of resilience that lasts, even through the toughest of storms.
There is a mindset here that keeps us moving forward. Courageous enough to think about the next step ahead. We’ve seen market success, fresh ideas, and a world that recognizes our region and its resources as key to the shift from fossil fuels to renewables.
While we’ve made great strides, we’re still on our journey – and Skellefteå holds a unique position in the unstoppable movement of green transformation. And we will continue leading the way – with innovation, sustainability, and progress at our core. Where people work together to achieve great things.
Skellefteå has always been that kind of place. And now, even more people from all over the world have joined us – bringing their talents, perspectives, and ambition. Together, we are building a future that’s stronger than ever. Today, more people than ever call Skellefteå home and are committed to building their future here. Never before have so many felt such a strong connection to this place.
So yes – still unstoppable. And with great people by our side, we have every reason to feel that way. Even in the middle of a storm.
