15 Things You Don't Want to Miss at Society Expo 2026
One thing we already know for sure: Society Expo 2026 will be something Skellefteå has never experienced before. Over the course of two action-packed weeks, hundreds of different activities and events will take place, ranging from entertainment and inspiration to eye-opening experiences about what the Skellefteå of the future might look like.
But how do you choose from all the events going on? Don’t worry –here’s a little “Don’t Miss This” list with 15 tips to help you do just that. First, we’ll start with activities that are perfect for the whole family.
Pre-Party: Let the kids meet Bluey and Bingo. Society Expo 2026 kicks off early with a fun-filled Pre-Party on May 14–16 at Guldtorget. There will be everything from bounce houses and Peppes Minitivoli to the chance to meet Bluey and Bingo. Nordsken will also be taking place. See the program for more details.

A spectacular opening ceremony -featuring artists and educational sessions. The official opening on May 28 will kick off the entire Society Expo 2026. Carola, Pär Wiksten, and Sweden’s oldest DJ: DJ Gloria! Plus, an educational program featuring Nordea’s Chief Economist Annika Winsth, researcher Kjell A Nordström, and H&M’s former CEO Helena Helmersson. And much more. In other words, packed with content!
SE26 Exhibition. This interactive exhibition gives both children and adults the chance to discover what the future might hold. Definitely one of Expo’s biggest talking points!

A massive National Day celebration. On June 6, we’ll blow the Norwegians out of the water and make their Seventeenth of May celebration seem pretty tame in comparison.
The Silly Walk Parade. Join us for a Monty Python-inspired parade on June 2 and walk in a totally wacky way together. It’ll be just as much fun as it sounds!
Port Day in Kurjoviken. Who wouldn’t want to go aboard an icebreaker? On May 31, you might get the chance.

Wasteland. Book a session in the world’s coolest (yet comfortably warm) sauna! Location: Skellefteå Climate Action Park, which opens on May 28.
