Here in Skellefteå there is something for everyone

Winter has descended on our dear Skellefteå, and with it comes a magic that I have rarely experienced before.

As a relative newcomer to this dynamic and warm-hearted city, I have been surprised by the wide range of activities and the genuine sense of community that permeates the place. Here I have found a place where tradition and modernity meet, where the snow wraps us in an enchanting winter coat that creates a convivial and innovative atmosphere.

One memory that is particularly close to my heart is my experience at the Nordanås Christmas Market. There, amidst sparkling lights and the smell of freshly baked goods, I went in search of aniseed pigs - a local delicacy (for me) that I had never tasted before. When I finally found them and took my first bite, I realized why this tradition is so cherished. It's moments like these that embody the warmth and community that Skellefteå offers its residents, old and new.

Appreciate the beauty that surrounds us.

From vibrant winter activities such as cross-country skiing on Vitberget and ice skating on Nordanå, to quiet walks along the river where the silence is broken only by the crunch of snow underfoot or a restorative cup of hot chocolate at one of the city's cafés. Each activity offers new opportunities to discover and appreciate the beauty that surrounds us.
