Sara Cultural Centre hosts new exhibition from Skellefteå Konsthall

The exhibition Silver Days will open at Sara Cultural Centre on 11 June. The exhibition is produced by Skellefteå Konsthall and Lovisa Ringborg, an artist who has created her own distinctive and enigmatic imagery using photography, video and sculpture.

Ringborg often returns to an exploration of the subconscious and over recent years her art has traversed the borderlands between psychology and mysticism, shaping her own mysterious world.

The solo exhibition Silver Days includes new, previously unseen works. The pieces in the exhibition, all of which were created between 2020 and 2022, consist of a number of black and white photographs and a triptych in red that explores the motif of untouched nature. It also includes the sculpture group Stray Dogs, which are made from rebar and clay with a patinated surface of soil, iron oxide and paint. In combination with the tenebrous landscapes of forests, thickets, rocks and marshes, they reflect the senses and invite the viewer to sink into an unexplored, dreamlike world.

Born in Linköping in 1979, Ringborg has Master of Fine Arts degree in photography from Valand Academy at the University of Gothenburg. She has lived and worked in Stockholm since 2011.

The exhibition runs until 21 September.
