Today, October 22, our partners gathered at The Great Northern for an inspiring day about the future, collaboration and next steps in planning Society Expo 2026. Together, we reviewed where we are now in the implementation planning, and how we can continue to create value and participation for next year's big event. We would like to extend a warm thank you to everyone who participated.

Exhibition boxes are now available to order for Society Expo 2026. The work on the exhibition boxes is focused on creating a uniform, functional and aesthetically pleasing solution that also takes into account cost, environment and logistics. The boxes will be central elements of the exhibition and will create a coherent scenography of the event spaces.

What is really hiding under the surface of the Skellefte River? Society Expo 2026 wants to find out - at the same time as Skelleftebotten's diving club is doing a double community effort for Skellefteå municipality. During the fall, they inventory the presence of river pearl mussels and at the same time collect garbage from the river. The material will then be given new life in an art installation at Kurjoviken in Skelleftehamn.

Skellefteå is one of eight European cities awarded funding in the EU project SHIFT-R – Shaping Innovation-Friendly Territories (Rural Edition). From over 20 applicants, Skellefteå has been selected for its work on green industrial transition and inclusive innovation.
