Partner meeting at Campus Skellefteå

What happens when societal actors come together to shape the future? The partner meeting at Campus Skellefteå was a concrete step in the development of Society Expo 2026 - an occasion where visions took shape and places took direction.

On May 27, 2026, Society Expo will open its doors in Skellefteå. Until then, intensive work is going on behind the scenes - and in April, some thirty partners gathered at Campus Skellefteå to take the next joint step.

During the meeting, what has been finalized so far was presented: the theme of the days, the opening date, the nature of the different locations and how partners can be made visible in the city. The focus was on the possibilities - not just to showcase, but to create meaning and experience together.

One of the questions was: What do we want to show, and how?

Kurjoviken was particularly highlighted as a place where the local meets the global, with a focus on industry and green transition. A container exhibition is planned here, which will bring together both large and small efforts from various actors.

The conversation also focused on how to create something that feels urgent, relevant and unexpected. Helena Renström, Head of Society Expo 2026, emphasized the importance of sometimes taking unexpected paths to reach people. She highlighted how art and culture can be crucial in raising complex issues, creating emotions and sparking debate. It is not always about informing in the traditional way, but about touching and engaging.

In addition to podcasts, billboards and double modules, there was also a discussion on how different partners can join forces and create joint program elements in the SE26 event. The important thing is that all efforts and program elements fit into the whole - and at the same time stand out for target groups.

The partner meeting was a reminder of what Society Expo is fundamentally about: building the future together. With creativity, openness and courage.

The meeting was held in the Co-Creation Hub at Campus Skellefteå - a place that in itself reflects the spirit of Society Expo. With its focus on collaboration, innovation and accessibility, the forum is a natural stage for conversations about the future of society. We would like to extend a big thank you to Campus Skellefteå for allowing us to be there and share visions, frictions and future perspectives together.

Helena Renström, expo lead, summarizes the group’s discussion.
