Students build the future. Anderstorpsgymnasiet in collaboration with Society Expo 2026

At Anderstorpsgymnasiet in Skellefteå, teaching is now interwoven with community projects and collaboration across course boundaries. In close collaboration with Society Expo 2026, students in the construction and civil engineering program will have the opportunity to contribute with both their knowledge and their commitment.

The collaboration will give students the opportunity to work practically with elements highlighted in the curriculum, such as interpreting drawings, collaborating and communicating with a client. During the spring, the students have made a specially designed information player that will be placed in various places in Skellefteå for Society Expo 2026.

Our students usually find it extra fun to make things that are used and actually visible. It gives a different motivation when you know that what you build has a clear purpose, says Anders Åström, teachers at the construction program.

"Our ambition is to increase children's and young people's knowledge about the transformation of society and at the same time strengthen their confidence in a sustainable society. To succeed, we see participation as a key factor," says Helena Renström, project manager for Society Expo.

This will also be a way to showcase the knowledge and creativity that exists in Skellefteå's upper secondary schools. The students get to be seen, take their place and contribute to something bigger while developing their education. Society Expo 2026 is about showing the whole of Skellefteå, and upper secondary school students are an obvious part of that, Helena Renström emphasizes.

Other programs (such as the art program and the media program at Anderstorp School) are interested in collaboration and Society Expo would like to see more programs join.
