Four conversations about our shared future
How do we actually talk about the green transition – and why does language matter in terms of whether we succeed or fail?
In collaboration with Heja Framtiden, Society Expo 2026 and the Skellefteå place brand are launching a four-part podcast series. The series explores future issues, social development, and the green transition—with Skellefteå and northern Sweden as its starting point.
Through personal conversations with leading voices from the public sector, business, and social development, the series highlights how the transition can be both understandable, inclusive, and possible to implement in practice.

Part 1: The green transition – for whom?
First up in the series is a conversation with Mattias Goldmann, sustainability expert and CEO of the 2030 Secretariat. Together with host Christian von Essen, they discuss why the green transition is not a political project or a regional special interest – but rather a natural social development that fundamentally benefits the vast majority.
The episode covers topics such as:
– the need for updated language and a new narrative for the future
– Sweden's position in the transition of the transport sector
– the bottlenecks that are slowing down development – and how they can be resolved
Upcoming episodes in the series will feature:
– Kristina Sundin Jonsson, municipal director
– Karin Degerfeldt, Head of Community Development
– Joachim Nordin, CEO of Skellefteå Kraft
