Working together for climate-neutral cities by 2030

On June 2–4, 2026, Skellefteå will host Transition Lab Forum 21, where 48 cities from across Sweden will gather to drive climate change forward together. Over three intensive days, representatives from municipalities, authorities, businesses, and civil society will meet to exchange experiences, learn from each other, and find new ways to create climate-neutral and sustainable cities.

Transition Lab Forum is a central meeting place within the Climate Neutral Cities 2030 initiative – a national initiative in which Swedish cities are working together to accelerate the transition to climate neutrality with the goal of creating a good life for everyone within the planet's limits.

The forum focuses on collaboration, learning, and concrete examples. Participants will delve into topics such as sustainable urban development, innovative working methods, and practical tools to support climate goals at the local level. The forum offers a unique arena for knowledge exchange, networking, and inspiration for anyone who wants to help shape the sustainable societies of the future.

Skellefteå is an active participant in the Climate Neutral Cities 2030 initiative and is working purposefully to contribute to the mission through local transition, partnerships, and initiatives in areas such as mobility, construction, and industry.
