Together for the future – partners met ahead of Society Expo 2026

How do we create sustainable societies in a time of rapid change? May 27–June 9 How do we build the society of the future together? On February 25, around 50 partners gathered in Skellefteå to take the next step toward Society Expo 2026—an event where people meet, ideas are tested, and new collaborations emerge.

Representatives from the business community, the public sector, and civil society participated in the meeting, including representatives from the Church of Sweden, Norrbotniabanan, the Arctic Center of Energy, LF Västerbotten, and Skellefteå Kraft. What they all have in common is a desire to contribute to a more sustainable society—and to do so together.

During the meeting, they discussed how Society Expo can become a platform where people meet across borders and where ideas can take shape in reality. The discussions focused on topics such as how to create a sustainable event, how to set up and dismantle the event, and how the collaboration can create value long after Society Expo ends on June 9.

The partner meeting also featured inspiration from several organizations. The Church of Sweden talked about its initiatives and perspectives on sustainability and social engagement, and Skellefteå Kraft shared how it contributes to Society Expo—including through its participation in the Society Expo Exhibition.

During the day, short interviews were also recorded with some of our partners. These will be published on our social media channels in the near future and will provide more voices from the organizations that are helping to shape Society Expo.

Society Expo will take place in Skellefteå from May 27 to June 9, 2026, bringing together people who want to meet, share knowledge, and contribute to sustainable social development.

Because ultimately, that's what it's all about – meeting people and shaping the future.
