Society Expo Exhibition invigs

With energy, optimism, and over 50 students in attendance, the Society Expo Exhibition opened today at the Skellefteå Museum. The opening marked the start of 14 days where people come together, ideas take shape, and the future is explored together.

That morning, politicians, partners, and specially invited students gathered to open the exhibition together. During a joint opening ceremony, the students helped kick off the exhibition alongside Peter Skogh, director of the Swedish National Museum of Science and Technology.

The opening included a reception in the exhibition, reflections on Skellefteå’s development, and an opening speech before the power was symbolically switched on and the Society Expo Exhibition was opened to the public.

A special moment during the opening was when Mikael Ejrevi from the Skellefteå Museum highlighted a speech from the 1945 anniversary exhibition. Through historical insights and perspectives, the optimism of that era was linked to today’s societal transformation and the issues we face now.

The exhibition explores energy in its many forms—from the forces of nature and human drive to societal development and a future that has yet to be determined. Through interactive environments, stories, and experiences, visitors are invited to reflect on how we can work together to build sustainable societies.

The Society Expo Exhibition is on display at the Skellefteå Museum and is open to visitors through January 2027.
