During previous years' Society Summit in Skellefteå, a number of exciting cases have been presented - innovative solutions, successful collaborations and innovative initiatives that have inspired development. Here you can take part of cases from previous years.

School of the future 2040

The role of education in society is changing as technology, collaboration and personalized learning become increasingly important. The school of the future is flexible, student-driven and an integral part of society, where education, work and innovation work together to meet the needs of the future.

The content is based on three main questions:

• How can the education system be adapted to provide a more personalized and hybrid learning environment for each student?
• How can schools act as hubs for lifelong learning and strengthen collaboration between businesses, policy makers and the local community?
• How can AI and digital tools be used to improve teaching quality, transparency and efficiency in the education system?

Focusing on long-term goals, technology-driven development and inclusive learning will create an education system that not only equips students for the future - but also actively helps shape it.

Mental health of young people

Strengthening young people's mental health is crucial for a sustainable and prosperous society. By normalizing conversations about mental health and providing concrete tools, young people can better manage stress and anxiety. The initiatives focus on collaboration between schools, associations, parents and the wider community to create a long-term culture of well-being.

The content is based on three main questions:

• How can we create safe spaces and tools that strengthen young people's self-leadership and mental health?
• How can physical activity and movement be promoted to strengthen both mental and physical health?
• How can education, campaigns and digital platforms be used to reduce stigma and increase knowledge about mental health?

Through collaboration between municipalities, schools, businesses and civil society, innovative solutions are being developed to strengthen young people's well-being and create a more inclusive and sustainable future.

Public procurement

Sustainability and innovation can be driven forward through strategic public procurement. Through new methods and collaborations, procurement can contribute to both environmental and socio-economic goals.

The content is based on four main questions:

• How can CO2 calculation tools support decision-makers in prioritizing sustainable options?
• How can coordinated procurement teams in areas such as transportation, IT and construction create better dialogue and more efficient processes?
• How can open innovation procurement be used to stimulate new solutions through early supplier dialogues?
• What tools and platforms are needed to strengthen collaboration, knowledge sharing and professionalism in procurement?

By combining data-driven decisions, increased transparency and cross-sectoral collaboration, public procurement can become an engine for sustainable development and innovative solutions.

Sustainable housing of the future

How we build and design our homes and neighborhoods affects both the environment and social cohesion. Through innovative solutions and collaboration, we can create vibrant, sustainable and inclusive urban environments.

The content is based on four main questions:

• How can we redesign urban environments to promote social sustainability, safety and community?
• How can visualization and digital tools be used to inspire sustainable behaviours in living environments?
• How can a platform for the reuse of building materials strengthen circular processes in the construction industry?
• What methods can improve the urban planning process through early collaboration and shared sustainability goals?

By combining flexible housing solutions, digital tools and collaborative planning, we can shape the future of housing where both people and the environment thrive.
