3 useful ideas from a photographer
Patrick Degerman has been capturing Skellefteå through his lens for more than 40 years, both as a press photographer, avid birdwatcher, and freelance photographer. Here, he offers three tips for anyone who wants to venture out with their camera in the Skellefteå area!
1. THE OCEAN
Kågnäsudden is a favorite and it is also close to the city. Bjuröklubb is fantastic, of course, but Kågnäsudden is an hidden treasure. Here you will find picturesque fishing villages, beautiful cliffs, and above all, the ocean. It is a wonderful setting for all types of nature photography.
2. ERSMARK
If you enjoy photographing birds, Ersmarksängarna is the perfect place. Preferably from the north side. Every spring, large numbers of cranes, swans, and geese gather here. These are large birds that are relatively easy to get close to, especially if you are photographing from your car. If you are lucky, you may even spot the occasional bird of prey.
3. CITY CENTER
Why not try street photography on Nygatan in the city center? In the area between Stationsgatan and Skeppargatan, you can get beautiful reflections from all the windows on sunny days, which can give your photos an extra boost. If you like photographing buildings, there is plenty to choose from. Especially in these times when old buildings meet new ones.
