GUIDE

Our Indoor Guide
The outdoors isn't always appealing, and that's perfectly okay. Especially when winter has taken hold in Skellefteå with darkness, snow, and whipping icy winds. And even though the idea of hibernating may seem tempting, it also has some drawbacks. Especially for people – for us, it's downright unhealthy, both physically and mentally. So here are a few ideas on how you can break the winter blues without having to brave the elements.
Create something you never thought you could
Handens hus keeps crafts and arts alive and developing. Every other week they invite you to a creative oasis. Here you can explore different craft techniques based on various inspiring themes. Tools are available to borrow and materials are included, making it easy to dive into the world of crafts, regardless of previous experience.
Take up archery at Eddahallen
Skellefteå Archery Club offers indoor training in Eddahallen for all levels - from beginners to elite shooters. Here you can try different types of bows such as recurve, longbow and compound. The club welcomes participants from school age, offering several beginner courses per year. A perfect way to focus and have fun at the same time.

Coffee and games at Café på bit
Café på bit undeniably stretches the definition of what a café actually is - it is as much a dream living room for several generations. Here you can enjoy homemade coffee or have lunch while browsing through a world of games. With over 2,000 unique game titles, every generation of game console imaginable and a 100 m² arcade, there's something for everyone - from sentimental retro enthusiasts to modern gamers.
Swing away at RUFF Indoor Golf
At Kanalgatan 75 you'll find RUFF, a modern golf lounge with six golf simulators that give you virtual access to some of the world's most iconic courses - whatever the weather. With loaner clubs and a relaxed atmosphere, it's the perfect place for beginners and experienced golfers alike. On the downside, you'll no longer be able to blame ring rust when your swing is still a little off once the IRL fairways open.
Roll into the heat at Skellskate
There may be readers who do not yet know that the sound that occurs when four wheels of urethane simultaneously smack into the ground is the objectively best in the world. During the winter, you get your fill of this at Lejonströmsskolan where Skellefteå Skateboardförening has its hall. An environment characterized by inclusion - whether you want to learn the basics or hone your tricks, this is the place to be.

Reach new heights on your own at KFUM Skellefteå
KFUM invites everyone to try both top rope climbing and bouldering at their facility in Kombihallen. Climbing is definitely one of the more physically challenging activities on this list. But above all, it is a social and fun form of exercise that also challenges the brain by offering both problem solving and an increased ability to concentrate.
Relax at Vana Spa
Are you in a self-pampering mood and looking for a golden touch to winter life? Then you can find it at The Wood Hotel by Elite. It's home to the Vana Spa, a place of relaxation - with a heated outdoor pool, sauna and luxurious spa treatments, you can enjoy a moment of peace. And with a view from the twentieth floor that's not too shabby either.
