A visitor-friendly place, both in summer and winter

Klockardalsparken is located between Sjungande dalen and Eriksberg. In the winter it is a popular destination for barbecues and sledding. The park has been renovated to become a pleasant and visitor-friendly place all year round. It was completed in the summer of 2023.

Klockardalsparken being improved is an important part of the development of the district as is the construction of more housing in the surrounding area of Eriksberg and Erikslid. Thanks to support from the Swedish National Board of Housing, Building and Planning's "Green Cities" initiative, Skellefteå municipality has been able to invest a little extra money into the park to make it more popular in both summer and winter.

Improvements that have been added:

  • An outdoor classroom that can be used by the municipality's schools and preschools.
  • An accessible parking lot for both cars and buses adjacent to the outdoor classroom.
  • An insect hotel (via the VARCITIES project).
  • Sensors that show whether the windbreak is vacant and whether there are vacant car parking spaces.
  • Lighting at the sledding hill inspired by the northern lights.
  • Signs with information about the park and its importance for visitors.

The municipality is also developing a long-term plan to take care of and strengthen the biodiversity in the area.
