Campus Skellefteå wants to give students a great start

We want to give you, as a student, the opportunity to get to know the campus, the city, and the people and organizations here early on—all of whom are here to support you during your time as a student. Of course, we do this in collaboration with the student association and other students. We’ve invited several representatives whom you can meet, ask questions of, and connect with right away to ensure a smooth start to your time as a student.

Meet Us—Exhibitors for Benefit and Enjoyment

At Forum, House M, Campus Skellefteå, exhibitors will be on hand to meet you and present resources that can be both enjoyable and helpful for those who want to learn more about how to make the most of their time as a student. The list of exhibitors will be updated as needed.

• Welcome House Skellefteå —Your go-to guide when you need help settling into a new city.
• The Student Association —the hub for students on campus. The Student Association contributes
  to a more enjoyable student life through its sub-sections, which organize events and activities for students in Skellefteå.
• Campus Library - Make use of our study rooms for individual work and concentration, or our larger group rooms, perfect for projects and discussions. You’ll also find open study areas, available to anyone looking for a quiet and comfortable place to study or take a break. Borrow course literature and find out how to get an access card for extended opening hours (Meröppet) – available every day from 6:00 am to 10:00 pm.
• The Campus Church —aims to be a place for community, reflection, and conversation right in the heart of student life. Whether you’re looking for a quiet moment, meaningful encounters, or support in your daily life, you’re welcome just as you are.
• Texas Study Center—For those who need help improving their study habits and planning their study time, offering support through tailored methods and a study environment.
• Expats and Friends - We'll be sharing what EFA does — connecting international and national residents through regular meetups, cultural events, and community activities here in Skellefteå. New students, especially those arriving from other countries, often struggle with isolation and finding a social life beyond studies. EFA gives them an easy, low-pressure way to meet people, practice Swedish and English, and feel part of the local community from day one.
•  Culture & Leisure Skellefteå— There’s so much to enjoy in Skellefteå when it comes to your free time. Talk to the staff, who can offer tips on all sorts of activities based on your interests and ideas.
• Leisure and Culture Bank —Here you can borrow equipment for free for sports, leisure, outdoor activities, creativity, arts and crafts, and other cultural pursuits. Come talk to us, and we’ll tell you more.
• Visit Skellefteå – Tourist and visitor information. Up-to-date events and tips on places to visit, big and small. Find your way and have fun!
• PMU Second Hand in Skellefteå – We will bring special offers for students that can be used in our store. We also hope to recruit volunteers to join our activities.We will present our work and the organisation behind it. Students will also have the opportunity to learn more about Pingstkyrkan (the Pentecostal Church) in Skellefteå, which runs our store. As a volunteer, you can give some of your time to support humanitarian aid, make new friends, and enjoy a meaningful way to spend your free time.
• Community Development, Water and Wastewater Services, and Climate and Energy Advisory Services: Information about waste sorting – where and why, a second-hand map, our drinking water, and energy-saving tips.
• Henson PR – Maybe you’d like to be an ambassador by serving as a guest Instagrammer, contributing to the photo library, or perhaps appearing in Campus’s channels in some other way. Stop by and chat with us.
• Västerbotten County Handicraft Association —How can you incorporate more crafts and a sense of community into your everyday life? Here you can learn more about activities and places where people practice crafts.
• Consumer Guidance - Financial security is part of your career—we’ll give you a great start! Consumer advisors provide guidance on consumer rights, specifically regarding purchases between individuals and businesses. Budget and debt counselors provide advice and support regarding household budgets, debt situations, and debt restructuring. Our services are free of charge for residents of Skellefteå!
• SKEBO— student housing and perhaps your future home. Here you can learn a little more and ask your questions. Enter a contest and maybe win a little something.
• Medlefors —student housing, a safe and comfortable home for students in Skellefteå. Here, you’ll live in peaceful surroundings with nature right around the corner, while still being within walking and biking distance of downtown and the campus.
• "Women Welcome" Studiefrämjandet, with a focus on girls, women, and their families. We welcome newcomers and strive to create a friendly atmosphere and meaningful connections to help you feel at home. (Cancelled – information is available at the Welcome House Skellefteå stand.)
  
• Red Cross Skellefteå —Here you can learn more about social gathering places, community activities, and secondhand initiatives. Discuss volunteering and sustainable shopping.
• Tenants’ Association – Many students have just moved into their first place of their own, and we want to show them how we can support them in this transition. We’ll also explain how membership in the Tenants’ Association provides security in an otherwise rather unstable housing market. If you’re passionate about housing issues, there’s a lot you can do within our organization—both to make a difference and to find new social connections.

NolleP on August 20 at Nordanå

On August 20, 2026, in collaboration with Campus Skellefteå, new students will be offered a guided walking tour led by Överphösare, featuring a visit to the Nordanå Cultural Area with three suggested stops to help you get to know your student town a little better. This will take place after a kick-off session in the Forum Hall at Campus and a morning programme.

• Fritidsbanken —how to enjoy your free time at no cost. Borrow free equipment for sports, leisure, outdoor activities, creativity, arts and crafts, and other cultural pursuits. Take the opportunity to plan this year’s various seasonal activities and dare to try something new—completely free of charge.
• Exploratoriet —Explore a total of 800 square meters of exhibition space featuring exhibits and interactive experiments. Highlights include “The Forest,” “Metals,” and “A Skellefteå for Everyone.” The exhibition spaces are taking shape in collaboration with the region’s business community and are constantly evolving. Come discover them! Campus Skellefteå is offering free coffee and pastries on this day (password: student)!
• Skellefteå Museum SE26 Exhibition —join us on an interactive journey through Skellefteå—from the past and present into the interconnected city of the future. The exhibition provides space for creative thinking and a shared exploration of how a sustainable society can be shaped. Between 2:00 and 4:00 p.m. on August 20, staff will be on site to welcome students as they arrive.

Campus Student Day is organized by students for students, but we at Campus Skellefteå will of course be there because we know how important a good start is. We want to give you, as a student, the opportunity to get to know the campus, the city, and the people and organizations here early on—all of whom are here to support you during your studies. That’s why we’ve invited several organizations you can meet, ask questions of, and connect with right from the start.

New students will also receive a backpack from Campus Skellefteå—convenient to carry and filled with items we hope will be both useful and appreciated in your everyday student life.
