What is Fishing with Aleks?
"Fishing with Aleks" is a project run by Skellefteå municipality to help more young residents discover the joys of fishing and outdoor life.
Fishing is about nature experiences, relaxation and the thrill of trying to outsmart the fish to catch it. If you are between the ages of 13-16, you are welcome, together with friends or new acquaintances, to hang out with Aleks to fish, socialize and experience nature.
If you are 13-16 years old, you are welcome to participate. You will get to go out by boat and try pike fishing with modern equipment. There is the opportunity to fish within Skellefteå city, but also in fishing waters in towns around the municipality. The fishing will take place mainly in August and September, and possibly in October.
The activity is free of charge and you can, together with guardians, register your interest via the form you will find below. There are a limited number of places.
"Fishing with Aleks" is paused during the winter months and you can therefore not register interest at the moment.
What is the Youth Fishing License?
Did you know that there is a youth fishing license that is free and allows children and young people to fish in several waters around the municipality?

The project is a collaboration with the leisure centers in Skellefteå municipality. The young people are divided into different groups according to where they live and Aleks then agrees with the groups on the most suitable day, time and place. There is an opportunity for friends to fish together.
You can talk to the staff at the recreation center or register your interest via the form to get in touch. The form is not binding.
Aleksander "Aleks" Björklund Boskovic works with fishing development at the Recreation and Sports Department of Skellefteå Municipality. Through this project, he works to increase the opportunity for more young people to get out into nature and discover fishing or expand an already existing fishing interest. This is the second year he is running "Fishing with Aleks".
There will be opportunities to fish in several places in the municipality. One of the aims of the project is to discover fishing waters close to home.
Aleks agrees with participants where it is most convenient to meet, for example at a youth center or a school. He can also pick up and drop off close to home if necessary.
Nothing, everything is included free of charge.
You are welcome whether you are an experienced fisherman or if you have never fished before.
You don't need to bring anything, all equipment is provided by the project.
No, food or refreshments are provided. For example, there may be the possibility to have a barbecue. Aleks will check with participants in advance if there are any allergies or food restrictions.
