Fishing method: Float bait or bottom bait are common fishing methods for fishing for bream. There are many different baits you can use, a classic is worm and corn on the same hook. Other baits worth trying are bread, maggot or green peas. Bream often stay close to the bottom so place your bait on or just above the bottom. There you have the best chance of catching.

When and where: Bream fishing is best in summer when the water is warmer. Look for sheltered southern bays with soft bottoms, where there is usually more food. A sign that bream are in place and active can be turbid water as they rummage for food in and along the bottom. Often late evenings or night fishing can be best as the larger fish move closer to land under the cover of darkness.
