Ibis, Leuciscus idus
The ibis is somewhat reminiscent of a roach with its silver body and red fins, but as it grows larger, its color changes to a more gray or golden brown. However, its eyes are not red like a roach's, but yellow. The ide can also grow significantly larger than the roach, and fish over 50 cm and around 2 kg are not uncommon.

Fishing method: Bottom fishing is the most common method. A simple casting rod works as equipment, but it may be a little longer and with a sensitive tip. Make sure the hook is of the smaller variety and bait it with worms, corn or shrimp.
If you want to challenge yourself, you can also catch id with a fly rod out on the coast.
When and where: The ibis roams the shallow, warm bays of the coast in search of food and is most active in summer. Look for bays with a deep bottom and preferably close to an estuary, as they need flowing, migration-free water to spawn in spring. With a bit of luck, you may even see shoals of eels grazing insects at the surface.
