Skellefteå short-term center

Skellefteå Short Term Care Center (SKC) receives individuals who have a changed need for care, which means more qualified care. SKC is suitable for those who want greater variety in their work as an assistant nurse and focus more on health care work.

At SKC, you work closely with nurses, physiotherapists, occupational therapists and doctors who together form a team around the individual and their relatives.

The job offers variety because the inflow and outflow of people is higher at SKC than in other health and social care. Since the reason for the placement is often a change in needs, sensitivity and good treatment are particularly important.

The work at Skellefteå short-term care center is varied and developing. Here I can both broaden and grow in my role as an assistant nurse.

SKC is located in Anderstorp and consists of four units, where two units work with recurring short-term stays and two units with investigations. Recurring short-term stays mean that the elderly are periodically at a short-term place and in between at home. Through rehabilitation, we work to develop the individual's abilities to remain at home.

When we receive individuals with changed care needs, for example after a hospital stay, an investigation is carried out. We observe the person in their daily life and document what they can do and need help with. A summary is then written for the assistance administrators' assessment.

On behalf of a licensed health care professional, you as an assistant nurse will also carry out medical technology measures such as tube feeding, sampling and wound dressings.
