Responsibilities
As a nurse in the municipality, you may have patients aged 18 and over who are in need of primary health care at home. You can work in home health care or in special housing (we have housing for the elderly, for people with disabilities and in social psychiatry). Here, you will often build long-lasting and good relationships over time and get to know the patients.

In the majority of Skellefteå municipality's recruitments, you need to have basic knowledge and understanding of the Swedish language.
If you have a residence permit you can learn Swedish in SFI (Svenska för invandrare - Swedish for Immigrants)
You work independently with a lot of freedom and responsibility and are part of a team together with care staff, occupational therapists and physiotherapists.
Essentially, your work involves meeting with patients independently to assess, plan, implement and monitor health care interventions. You supervise staff in nursing and instruct and guide patients and relatives. You also work closely with doctors at health centers.
Most nurses in the municipality have the role of permanent care contact for a number of individuals. In addition, you work as a nurse on duty. This ensures a wide variety of work tasks. One day it's about coordinating care with the patient and their family, the next day it's about performing tasks as a duty nurse. And all based on the planning you do in the team and how you choose to organize your work.
