Paying for parking
Skellefteå Municipality has 2,200 parking spaces in the town centre, 600 of which are in parking garages. There are several ways to pay for parking in municipal parking spaces in Skellefteå.
The SkePark app
You can use the SkePark app to pay parking fees in Skellefteå’s municipal car parks. You can download the app free of charge and there is no surcharge for using it.
Register in the SkePark app
- Download the SkePark app. The first time you open the app, you will be asked to allow SkePark to access your device’s (mobile phone’s) location data.
- Click on Allow.
You will then be directed to the map with all of the parking spaces marked.
- Click on the green field at the bottom of the page, where it asks you to Log in to park.
- Scroll down to the link Register account.
Register on your computer
- Open the website www.swappaccess.com/register/with/Skelleftea Link to external website. External link.
- Follow the steps to register your account. You will be asked to register your personal details, vehicle and payment method.
Open the app, press Park, select Parking space and Vehicle, followed by Drag to park. Once you have completed the parking, select Drag to exit.
You can pay by card or invoice and you will receive a receipt by email. You do not need to pay and display, as the traffic warden can see that you have paid on their handheld device.
Card payments are processed immediately when you confirm your purchase (parking).
Invoices are sent out once a month. All invoices are subject to an administration fee of SEK 20.
Other payment methods
In addition to SkePark, Skellefteå Municipality’s own payment system for parking, there are also a number of external solutions for paying your parking fee. You can also pay by SMS and by card in all and by cash in some pay and display machines.
Parking garage subscriptions
You can buy a 30-day subscription for parking garages, or a 7-day subscription in the Brinken parking garage. Subscriptions are limited and can be purchased via the Customer Portal. Traffic wardens can see that you have a subscription on the handheld device, so you do not need to log in and out of the app every time.
If pay and display machines are out of order
If a pay and display machine is out of order, walk to the nearest alternative machine to buy a ticket, or pay using your mobile phone. Check that the other pay and display machine is valid for the same zone as the one you are parked in. You cannot park free of charge because a pay an display machine is out of order.
