Maintenance technician

As a Maintenance Technician, you are responsible for preventing and correcting faults in various types of technical systems in the industry. The education is a good choice for those who want to work with maintenance and repair of machines and equipment. You can also be involved in developing new solutions to improve reliability and efficiency.
The education provides you with knowledge of mechanics, pneumatics, automation and control technology, among other things. You will also learn about work environment, safety, quality and documentation.
After the training, you can work as a Maintenance technician at different types of companies that need maintenance staff.
The training starts on the condition that the necessary decisions are made.

Eligibility
- You are eligible for adult education from 1 July of the year in which you turn 20. If you have a final certificate, upper secondary school diploma or upper secondary school certificate, you are eligible even if you are younger than 20 years old.
- It is important that you have the appropriate prerequisites to study at upper secondary level. You need to have a passing grade in English 5 or a passing grade in a course on an equivalent level from a different country.

The structure of the education
The training includes theory and practical elements. Large parts of the education are carried out at Campus Skellefteå. Home studies are a part of the education. The practical elements take place in small groups and your schedule can be changed at short notice. If you are taking the course, you need to be available for on-site studies full-time during the day.
The language of instruction is English, and the training material is in English. Individual tutoring can be in both Swedish and English.

Working in clean and dry environments
IIn the emerging industry, work in cleanrooms and dry rooms is common to prevent products from becoming contaminated. For more information about these parts, we refer to the industry that can answer your questions in more detail. Contact information for the industry can be found below.
Duration of study
• The education is full-time and includes 400 credits at upper secondary level
• The training take place between 5 February - 12 April 2024
The education can be financed with student grants and loans from CSN.
Own costs for the education
For the start of the education, the student pays approximately SEK 1200 for access to protective clothing, educational materials and software licenses.
You need to have access to your own Windows laptop to take part in the teaching material.

Application
What to include in your application
In your application, attach the following via the "Bifoga dokument (Attachment)" function in the application form. Scan or photograph the following documents:
- Your grades/certificates
- If you are applying from another municipality: Attach the decision on intermunicipal compensation (IKE) from your municipality of recidence. Contact the adult education provider (Vuxenutbildningen) in your municipality of recidence.

Admission process
The admission process starts when the application period is closed. An admission process is estimated to take up to three weeks. Admission notices are sent by e-mail. It is important that you provide the correct e-mail address and telephone number in your application.
