Waste collection
On this page you can learn more about the rules for household waste collection. You will also find answers to FAQs about waste.
Your bins must be taken out for emptying no later than 04:00 on the day of collection. If any errors are found in separation and packaging, information will be left on the bin.
Changes to collection days
Sometimes the day on which your rubbish is collected will change due to public holidays. Keep an eye on Skellefteå Municipality’s website or Facebook page and the information in waste management calendar.
Placement of bin(s)
Where you place your bin(s) will depend on whether they are collected by a standard waste collection vehicle or a side-loader. If your waste is collected by a standard vehicle, place your bins on your property boundary somewhere they are clearly visible, with the handle facing outwards. Please watch the video below to see how the service works.

Allow the bins to stand until they are empty.
Sometimes circumstances arise that delay the collection of your household waste, such as icy roads, large amounts of snow, the knock-on effects of public holidays, etc. Put your bins out on the scheduled day of collection and leave them until they are emptied.
