Children's book bus
The children's book bus is a complement to the libraries in Skellefteå municipality and the target groups for the activity are children aged 0-12 years and educators. Even you who are at home with children or want to borrow for your grandchildren are welcome to borrow children's and youth literature on the Book Bus.
At the Book Bus you can borrow fiction, non-fiction, comic books and magazines for children and young people, as well as educational literature.
The aim is to offer seven visits during an academic year. The visit interval is normally five weeks, but can be longer due to e.g. holidays and public holidays.
Books and other media are lent out in six weeks. A reminder is sent two weeks after the return date. If someone has reserved the book, a reminder is sent after one week.
The books borrowed from the Children's Book Bus can be returned at the next book bus visit, at the City Library or at one of the municipality's local libraries.
Preschools can borrow book bags with mixed books, which can then be borrowed home from the preschool by parents. They can be borrowed from the Book Bus during our visits. The bags contain five books each and are divided for children aged 1-3 years and 3-5 years.

Note! In the winter we vill cancel tours if it is -20 degrees or colder when the bus is due to leave. This is to keep the bus in good condition.
If a tour is cancelled, this will be notified by phone or email.
