Angling
Angling is an effective and flexible fishing method and can be used by both beginners and experienced fishermen. Although angling is the oldest form of sport fishing, it is constantly evolving.

Common baits: Worm, maggot, corn, shrimp, peas
Common species: pike, perch, ide, bream, roach
Equipment: fishing rod, bait, net, seaweed or fishing rod
Other tips: Depending on the species, location and season, there are different variations you can try. The easiest is to fish for roach or perch from a jetty using a float and worm. You can also try bottom fishing for whatever is biting in the nearest bay. Or go big and lure the fish in with mash, cast the bait out with a feeder rod, set the bait alarm, turn on the headlamp and settle down in a comfortable camping chair to wait for the new species or dream fish.

Don't forget pliers and a landing net!
It’s not uncommon for a pike to take the worm, or for the hook to be lodged deep in the throat of that small perch you didn’t intend to keep. In those cases, pliers or forceps increase the chances of removing the hook in a gentler way.
