You can fish here
Here we have put together a local guide to make fishing easy. Skellefteå has 420 kilometers of exciting coastal fishing, five major rivers, three of which are classified as wild salmon rivers. This concentration of high quality salmon waters is unique in Sweden. The Skellefteå River has easily accessible salmon fishing, even in the middle of town, which is very popular with anglers. But we also have 1500 lakes and almost as many named rivers that also offer adventures with fishing rods in hand, for small and large.
As fishermen, we can contribute to sustainable and responsible fishing. This means that we only keep the fish we are going to eat and put the rest back, and that all fish is handled responsibly. This contributes to sustainable fish stocks that are good for the ecosystem and means that more fishermen will have opportunities for good catches in the future.
Did you know?
There are many associations involved in fishing. Local angling clubs, fishing conservation areas and nationwide organisations such as SportFisher or the Young Anglers' Federation. Sharing your interest in fishing with others is both fun and educational.
