Support assistant

As a support assistant, you will support and guide people with physical, mental or intellectual disabilities. You can work with people at all stages of life: Children, young people, adults and elderly.

The work is always based on the individual's needs and wishes. Through educational support and care, you can increase the person's abilities and independence in everyday life.

It is a fun and responsible job where we support and guide in everyday issues. You get to guide the person in life!

What would you prefer to work in?

Personal assistance

You are a natural part of a person's everyday life and support the person in their home environment. You work closely and help with everything from personal care to practical chores and activities, working closely with colleagues and the person's loved ones.

Housing with special services

You support the person in everyday tasks such as cooking, cleaning, personal hygiene and leisure activities, and help with social and governmental contacts.

You can work in a group housing, where a limited number of people with extensive supervision and care needs live in small apartments. There are shared facilities for support and social interaction and the possibility of staff support 24 hours a day.

You can also work in an assisted home. The person then lives in their own apartment, which you visit to provide individualized support. There is a common room near the assisted home, where the person can come to meet you, your colleagues and others who have support.

Support in ordinary housing

You are part of a mobile support team that supports the person to live as independent as possible based on their conditions. You help the person in their own home both through personal visits and telephone contact.

Daily activities

In daily activities, you are a support that ensures that adults who are not working or studying have a meaningful occupation. Daily activities can be a separate organisation or performing a specific task at a regular workplace. For example, the employment may involve janitorial service, theater, laundry, cleaning, café activities or carpentry.

Children and young people – after-school care and short-term stay

After-school care (short-term supervision) gives young people aged 12 and over a meaningful leisure time while their parents work or study. Through activities such as crafts, games, physical activity and recovery, we train young people in social interaction, everyday chores and communication so that they become as independent as possible based on their conditions.

In a short-term stay you support children and young people with everything from nursing to social interaction and give them the chance to develop in a safe context outside the home.
