Download library apps to listen to audiobooks, watch movies, and read books and magazines for free.

In the Biblio app you can borrow, read and listen to e-books and audiobooks - both online and offline. You log in with your library card/personal identification number and your PIN code and get access to the library's range of digital books.

  • You can borrow a maximum of 2 e-books/audiobooks per 7-day period.
  • The loan period is 28 days.
  • You cannot re-borrow an e-book/audio book. If you want to borrow the book again, you must borrow a new copy.
  • You do not have to return e-books/audiobooks. At the end of the loan period, the books are automatically removed.

Reading and listening to books with Biblio

  1. Download the Biblio app in App Store External link. or Google Play External link..
  2. Start the app and select Skellefteå Library.
  3. Enter your library card/personal identification number and your PIN code.
  4. Click on "Log in".
  5. The first time you log in you have to accept the terms and conditions.
  6. Choose which book you want to read or listen to, either by searching for it or browsing the app's categories.
  7. When you choose which book you want to borrow, pay attention to choosing the right format, audiobook och e-book. The audiobooks have a blue icon with headphones. E-books have a red icon with a book.
  8. Click on "Borrow" and then "Read" och "Play".
  9. Your borrowed books are in "My loans" in the app. Click on the book to read or listen. If you pause or turn off, the app will automatically remember where in the book you stopped reading/listening.
  10. Listen on audiobooks offline: Under "My loans" you can activate the "Make available offline" function for each audiobook. The audiobook is then downloaded to the app and you do not need an internet connection to listen to it.
  11. Listen to e-books offline: E-books are automatically downloaded to the app before they can be read. They are always available in the app during the loan period, even if you do not have an internet connection.
  12. If you want to read e-books in the app, we recommend that you borrow via the app, not via the library website. If you borrow e-books on the library website, you can also find e-books in PDF format and they can only be opened in a reading program such as Adobe Digital Editions or PocketBook Reader.

You can also read e-books with special reading software such as Adobe Digital Editions or PocketBook Reader, and on your computer you can listen to streaming audio books when you are connected to the internet.

As a library user in Skellefteå municipality, you have access to TWO movie services through your library account: Cineasterna and Viddla!

You can borrow streaming e-film from the library through the Cineasterna service. All you need is your library card/personal number, your PIN and an internet connection. Watch movies at your convenience on your computer, mobile or tablet.

  • You can borrow a maximum of 8 e-films per month per service, i.e. 8 films on Cineasterna and 8 films on Viddla.
  • The loan period is 48 hours.
  • You don't have to return e-films. Once the loan period ends, you can no longer play the movie.
  • Cineasterna can only be used within Sweden.

  2. Select a movie you want to borrow.
  3. Enter your library card/personal identification number and your PIN code.
  4. Click on "Watch the movie". The movie will start!

  4. Click on the movie and select the "Play movie" button.
  5. Select "Skellefteå Library" and log in with your library card/personal number and your PIN code. The movie will start!

The Bläddra app is completely free for the user and contains literature in minority languages for adults, young people and children.

The e-books can be accessed anywhere in the country and are available offline. No account or login is required to read the books.

ArkivDigital is a database for genealogists with digital color images of church records and other historical documents. Can only be used on the City Library's genealogy computer.

Trafiko

You can study driving license theory for free at the library with Trafiko. Available in Swedish, English, Arabic and Persian, the driving license theory contains an e-book, audio book, driving license questions and videos. Can only be used in libraries.
